How to Book with our Psychologist at North West Healthy Women
Taking the first step toward mental health support is often the hardest part of the journey. We get it – life in North Brisbane is busy, and between work, family, and everything in between, your own mental and physical well-being can sometimes slide down the priority list.
At North West – Healthy Women in Everton Park – North West Plaza, Flockton Street – we’ve designed our booking process to be as seamless as possible. Whether you are navigating postpartum challenges, anxiety, or simply need a space to process life’s transitions, here is your step-by-step guide to getting started with our psychology team.
1. Do I need a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)?
Technically, no. You are always welcome to book as a private patient. However, if you’d like to access Medicare rebates to make support more affordable, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan, available from your General Practitioner (GP).
We understand discussing mental health matters can be challenging. If you don’t have a usual GP in North Brisbane, we can recommend practices across suburbs like Everton Hills, Eatons Hill, Bridgeman Downs, Stafford and Chermside.
Your GP will typically assess your needs and provide a referral. Most local GPs are very familiar with our holistic approach at North West – Healthy Women, and can send your referral over directly to us!
2. Sending the Referral
Once your GP has prepared your referral, they can send it to us via secure email or fax.
Already have a plan? If you have an existing MHCP from another clinic or a previous GP, you don’t need a brand-new one! You can utilise your current plan to start seeing our psychologist immediately.
3. Understanding Medicare Rebates in 2026
We believe in transparency when it comes to the cost of care. For 2026, the Medicare rebate for a standard psychology session (whether you see us in-person in Everton Park or via Telehealth) is $98.95. Our current consultation fees are $260.00 – leaving a gap-payment of $161.05.
With a valid MHCP, you can access:
Up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year.
Up to 10 group sessions per calendar year.
4. Appointment Times That Actually Work
We know that “9 to 5” doesn’t work for everyone. To support the women in our community, we offer:
Monday 2pm-5pm
Thursday 8pm-2.30pm
If these times don’t suit, please let our team know – we will do our best to accomodate.
A Holistic Approach to Women’s Health
At North West Healthy Women, we don’t look at mental health in a vacuum. Often, physical health and mental health go hand-in-hand. While you are working with our psychologist, you might find that our other services can support your progress:
Women’s Health Physiotherapy: Ideal for those navigating pelvic health or pregnancy-related physical changes.
Exercise Physiology & Exercise Classes: Because movement is a powerful tool for managing anxiety and depression.
Dietitian Services: Supporting the gut-brain connection and nutritional wellness.
5. Ready to Book?
The fastest way to see our real-time availability is via our Online Booking Portal.
When you arrive – our friendly reception team of Ruby, Wendy or Natalie will greet you. We will ensure you paperwork is collated and up-to-date, so that your consultation can be seamless from start to finish. Davina operates in a private clinic room at our Everton Park clinic.
